Deadlines!

The new brake part did not come in today. I went back to the Harley shop this afternoon with my parts, they thought they might be able to make the parts work. They couldn't, the tolerances are just too tight. They gave me a set of 4 inch risers to try and see if they will work. So between now and bedtime I need to install the risers and the old brake system that you see in the photo, pack all my stuff, and make a test run. This is a lot like Orange County Choppers with the pressing deadlines. The only thing missing is Paul Sr. to come around stressed out and start yelling and swearing.

All Clean and somewhat together

I noticed a smidget of dirt on the bike so I had to wash it. Also just a touch of wax, just a wee bit. I'm not obsessive about the bike being clean, really... I did pack an old shirt should she need a bit of a touch up out there, but I'm not obsessive. :-) Zee bike she must be clean for zee ride.

Do I really need front brakes?

I was planning to head on up yesterday but due to several problems I wasn't quite ready. One minor issue is I don't have any front brakes. Is that bad? I've been working with Harley Davidson for about one week now to get all the parts I need to install new handlebars which will be more comfortable for the longer ride. I thought it was all good on Sunday so I installed the new front brake lines only to find the last little piece to connect them did not fit. It is supposed to come in today, I will visit them around 3 and find out if it arrived. If the part does not come in then I will need to install the old brake lines and bleed out the air bubbles and hit the road. All ready the drama is afoot in this story, you are probably on the edge of your seat yes? :-)

This bike looks like its ready to go doesn't it? Not really. I have a lot to do today to get ready.
